James Margetts


James manages all work in the Greater China region and was formerly Director & Country Manager China for Spectrum Asia, having joined the business in 2007. He has been resident in Asia for three decades and has extensive working knowledge of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, the Philippines, and Vietnam. His career includes extensive experience in commercial investigations, IPR and fraud detection and prevention. He is a Graduate of Dartmouth College with a BA degree in Asian Studies. James is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has a working knowledge of Japanese and Turkish.

Tom Parker


Tom is an acknowledged specialist on the Southeast Asian security environment, international relations and politics. He was formerly Regional Manager for Spectrum Asia and a Director of Spectrum OSO Asia Co Ltd in Thailand, having joined the business in 2011 after serving as a risk analyst at the British Embassy, Bangkok. Within this role he helped lead initiatives to tackle illegal migration and associated organized crime in Vietnam, building intelligence by working with foreign missions, local enforcement and government in Hanoi. Tom has overseen multiple complex projects throughout the Asia Pacific region. He speaks and reads Thai fluently and has worked as a Thai interpreter for the UK Home Office. He has an MA degree in Southeast Asian Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.

David Tuck, MVO


David has three decades of experience in investigations, corporate communications, government service and journalism, most of which time has been spent in Asia. He was formerly Director & Head of Research for Spectrum Asia and a Director of Spectrum OSO Asia Co Ltd in Thailand. Prior to joining the business in 2005, he worked for Weber Shandwick further to four years as an Assistant Press Secretary at Buckingham Palace, and six years with the British Embassy in Thailand and Laos (where he headed the British Trade Office, the precursor to establishment of a full embassy), working on political, commercial and other matters. David reads and speaks Thai at an advanced level, and Lao to an intermediate level. He has a BA degree in Mediaeval & Modern History from University College London, and studied Thai at the School of Oriental and African Studies, London.
